Why Bakery Buddy exists — and who's behind it.
In 2016, Lindsay Holdorf founded Marin Cake Studioout of a conviction that luxury and accessibility should coexist — that a truly exceptional custom cake shouldn't require a catering budget or a corporate client. She built a reputation in San Rafael on exactly that: personal relationships, premium ingredients, and a standard of design and flavor excellence that led her to limit her calendar so every project got the attention it deserved.
The problem was the cost. FreshBooks for invoicing. A scheduling tool on top of that. A social media platform that charged extra for anything useful. Separate fees for accounting, for email marketing, for a link-in-bio tool. None of it talked to each other, none of it was built with a bakery in mind, and the bill added up fast — for a business that was still figuring out if it could make rent.
Enter Chad: the IT guy, the husband, the person who watched all of this from across the kitchen table and decided to do something about it. He built the integrations, wired the systems, and eventually realized the problem wasn't unique to Marin Cake Studio. Every talented independent baker was fighting the same three-app, four-tab, five-browser-window battle.
Bakery Buddy is the platform they wished had existed in 2016. One place for operations, marketing, and financials — designed by someone who knows what the back office actually looks like for a one-person studio doing world-class work.

Meet the Team
Founder of Marin Cake Studio, a luxury custom cake atelier in San Rafael, CA she built from scratch in 2016. She is the reason this platform exists, and the reason it actually makes sense.
